Selfridges Summer Beauty Box!

Lets all just pause a moment and take in the loveliness that is the Selfridges Summer Beauty Box!

My heart skipped a beat when I saw this online and I don't think I've ever moved so fast when the doorbell rang and my postman delivered this yesterday morning! You know you're properly getting into blogging when the first thing you wanted to do was photograph it and show you guys, how sad!

So the contents is as follows...

Aqua Splash Tangle Teezer | Models Own Neon Nail Varnish | Bumble and Bumble Surf Spray | Molton Brown Blissful Templetree Shower Gel | Caudalie Beauty Elixir | St. Tropez Instant Glow Face Lotion | Jane Tran Hair Clips | Erborian BB Cream | Lancaster After Sun | St. Tropez in-store offer card (free beach bag with a spray tan... not too exciting!)

Now as is to be expected with these beauty boxes all the products are sample size but if I'm honest I think they're a perfect way to try new products and it is such good value for money. This box is an online exclusive and is £25 (the value of the products comes to £70) personally I think this is a bargain and there are some really good quality products in here! I think Selfridges have hit the nail on the head with the summer vibe and the minitures are actually perfect for taking on holiday with you, allowing more room for clothes or that extra pair of heels...

The products that swayed me into parting with my much needed cash were the Tangle Teezer and the Caudalie Beauty Elixir because they were on my wishlist already and the price of those alone would have come to almost £25 and look how much more I got! I'm also excited to try the Bumble and Bumble surf spray as I've heard such good things and the BB cream also looks intriguing!

I will most definitely let you know how I get on with all of these products! If you like the look of this box I'd get in there quick as it is limited edition and I'm not sure how much longer they'll be available!

What are your opinions on the beauty box craze? Would you be interested in such a product? Let me know your thoughts!

30 Day Snap Challenge!

Hey Everyone!

I  hope you are well! Since we last spoke I have moved my things out of halls and basically completed my first year of University, MADNESS!

Since I am going to have a lot more free time expect to see a little more from me on here! To kick the summer of blogging off I have taken inspiration from my favourite blogger Sprinkle of Glitter!

She has tagged all of her 'Sprinklerinos' to join her in her 30 day snap challenge! A photo a day for every day in June!

So who excited! I certainly am! Now lets face it my life really isn't THAT interesting and so a lot of the photos will be fairly mundane things but I hope this will encourage me to get out and do some different things so that I can take some lovely pictures!

This is open to anyone and everyone and if lots of people join in I'm sure it will be a lot of fun! Even if you don't have a blog just Instagram or tweet a photo a day of ANYTHING! Go on... I dare ya!

Sleek Blush Palette: Lace

Hey everyone!

I hope you've all had a good week? Anyone done anything exciting?

So today the star of the show is the Sleek Blush Palette in Lace! Look how pretty...

I am literally in love with these colours. Its such a versatile palette with a mixture of matte and shimmer shades in three very different colours. Its perfect for holiday because one palette does all, the 'sleek' packaging is so easy to just throw in your make up bag and you're good to go.

My favourite shade is probably the middle shimmery peach, you'll all know by now I'm a sucker for sparkles. This colour really peps up the complexion and really eliminates the need for a highlighter, another holiday bonus!

The other two shades are seriously pigmented, as you can probably see from the swatches, and can be a little difficult to blend. I tend to prefer blushes where you can build up the colour because no one wants stripes of colours on their cheeks. However, if you get a good swirl of with your brush tap of the excess and apply with caution they create some seriously punchy blushes for some really lovely looks! If you blend a bit of the shimmer with them they really are gorgeous!

For just £9.99 I think this palette is super good value for money (what, £3.33 per blush, amazing.)

This really is the perfect summer blush palette! It will most definitely be hot footing it with me wherever I go this summer!

Any other Sleek lustables? Do let me know below!

Do remember to follow on GFC too (look over here ;) ----->)

Right I'm off to watch the Chelsea Flower Show (Is that sad? probably but the flowers are so pretty!!!)

Mac Fix+

Hey Everyone! Hope you are all well, and coping with the weather change! I can't quite believe this time last week we were all nursing sun burn and this week are wrapped up in multiple layers of clothing! I'm not sure I've coped with this change as well as I might have. I'm feeling a bit rubbish, starting to lose my voice and everything aches!

My skin is also paying the price. I've had a few breakouts and its looking really dull and lifeless. In comes one of my newer purchases Mac's Fix+. I really needed something to give my complexion dewiness and life. I've been using it with my Rimmel Wake Me Up foundation seems to be a perfect combo for times like these when my skin is in extra need of some pepping up!

This product has really done the job this week! Just spritz it on before or after make up and it refreshes and just adds that little bit of extra moisture needed to make the skin look healthier. I really like that it comes out as a mist rather than a water spray too! I only went for the travel size as I wasn't sure if I'd like it but I really do. I would probably only buy the travel size again if I repurchased as its ten times more convenient to carry round in my make up bag!

How've you been coping with the constant change in English weather? Have you tried this product before? What did you think?

Bank Holiday BBQ!

Hello everyone!

How was everyone's bank holiday weekends? Mine was LUSH! It was so relaxing and I am literally in love all this sunshine! I seem to have escaped sunburn so far, apart from a random patch on the top of my foot and personally I think this is an achievement!

I had a BBQ last night and it was amazing! Steak, kebabs and salad, perfect! Why does BBQ food taste so much better than normal food?!

Anyway, to accompany my BBQ I decided to make my own Iced Tea. Last year I became obsessed with Costa's Iced Tea, I think it could possibly have been classed as an addiction. So, as you can imagine, when they suddenly stopped making it, I was not a happy bunny. I had to resort to Lipton's for my fix but it just wasn't the same. Now its summer time again and I really have been craving it.

Summer project No. 1: Find good Iced Tea recipe and make some!

I found a recipe online that looked pretty simple and thought I'd give it a try. You can find this recipe here!

Literally all you do is stew some darjeeling tea bags for five minutes, stir in a couple of tablespoons of sugar and leave to cool. Add some juice of your choice and pour over ice!

Even I could cope with this recipe! Now I couldn't find peach juice to make my favourite peach iced tea so I settled for passion fruit. It was actually really nice! It wasn't perfect but I was quite impressed! It had a definite tea after taste which didn't really please me all that much as I'm not a tea drinker. I think with a few tweaks this recipe would be really good.

If anyone know of a good recipe then send it my way, I'm a woman on a mission!!! Also, if anyone has any contacts with Costa (unlikely I know) would you express my view that Iced Tea should be a permanent fixture on their menus!

What were you up to this May Day weekend? Let me know in the comments!

April Favourites!

Hi everyone, I hope you're enjoying this beautiful weather we're having!
I thought today would be a good time to tell you about my April favourites. I genuinely can believe how fast this year has gone but hey ho, lets get started!

In no particular order...

Bioderma Sensibio H2O: OK, I know I'm super late on the band wagon with this one buuut I finally found it in the pharmacy near uni, the lid is slightly damaged but still seals fine so I got it half price, result!!!
I really love it, its a perfect quick fix solution for make up removal. You just pop some on a cotton pad and sweep it all over your face, done! Obviously I love my Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish, but that is time consuming and sometimes I just can't be bothered so this is perfect! Hopefully this will become more readily available in UK because it is a pain to get your hands on but if you can then I would definitely recommend giving it a go!

Topshop Nails in Moonshine: This colour is a metallic copper and just looks lovely! I love it for my toes because its quite subtle but it also looks nice on your fingers for a going out look. The formula of this is so good, I apply two coats but really you could get away with one, its so easy to apply, a brilliant quick polish for those spontaneous nights out or for days when you just cant be bothered to spend hours applying and waiting for it to dry! Good work topshop!
I can't actually see this colour on the website but this is very similar!

Mac Creamsheen Lipstick in Peach Blossom: I love everything about this lipstick! The formulation is really creamy and doesn't dry out. The colour is so pretty for day time, it almost exactly matches my lip colour but adds definition and a little sparkle. I do find myself applying it a few times in the day but to be honest with you I think thats more because I love it so much and not because I need to reapply! Literally in love with this lipstick!

Primark Back Combing Brush: These are such clever little inventions! I'd seen them aorund for a while but the branded ones are four or five pounds and I wasn't sure I could justify spending that on a brush I realistically would use loads. I found this one in Primark for just £1!! Well I had to try it because at that price I really had nothing to lose! I actually really like this brush, its perfect for getting that extra bit of volume in a up do on a night out, and just giving your hair a little boost of flat days! At just £1 its brilliant value for money and I would definitely recommend getting one!

Benefit Sugarbomb Box o' Powder: This one I've actually had in my stash for ages but recently rediscovered! I'm not really sure why I didn't use it in the first place if I'm honest! This blush is SO pretty and is perfect for everyday. With the four colours in the box its perfect to just swirl your brush in sweep all of the cheeks and you're good to go! I don't use any bronzer or highlighter with this generally because it just looks lovely on its own. It gives the cheeks and gentle flush of colour with a little bit of shimmer and just looks really natural. I think this is perfect for spring/summer because its easy and light! Love this!

What have been your favourites this month? Let me know in the comments!
